George Somers has served as the lead attorney
for shopping center, office building, and
hotel/convention center development and acquisition, as well as
various public/private redevelopment projects. With more than
20 years of concentrated experience in all types of real
estate, he has provided counsel primarily to developers of and
investors in real estate. Mr. Somers has also assisted clients
in the areas of turnkey developments, build-to-suit leases,
long term ground leases,
and sale-leasebacks, as
well as air-rights, licenses, easements, and other ancillary real estate agreements. Mr.
Somers was a partner at Baker & Daniels before co-founding Wallack Somers
& Haas in 1999. Mr. Somers graduated
from St. Olaf College (B.A., magna cum laude), and
subsequently earned degrees from Harvard University (M.T.S.,
cum laude), Duke University (M.A.), and University
of Chicago (J.D.). He has received several honors,
including Phi Beta Kappa, and was named a James B. Duke
Scholar. Mr. Somers has been listed in
Best Lawyers in America (1997–2007), cited by
Indianapolis Monthly as one of the top real estate
lawyers in the city, and is given a number 1 ranking by Chambers &
Partners (2003-2007) amongst real estate attorneys in Indiana. |
